Chinese Antique Furniture Care Tips

Cleaning:
ĦE Clean furniture with a dry soft cloth
ĦE Do not use any chemicals, sprays etc.
ĦE Wax and polish few times a year with beeswax. (special antique beeswax is also available in stores.)

Other tips:
ĦE Never rub the wood with rough cloth!
ĦE Rapid changes in temperature, humidity or direct sunlight may cause cracking, splitting and warping
ĦE The ideal condition for furniture is a stable atmosphere
between: a relative humidity of 40-70%; a temperature of 15-25'C
ĦE Using a humidifier or putting a glass of water inside/under the furniture will help to maintain the good level of humidity
ĦE The colour will fade or change slightly in strong sunlight
ĦE Avoid placing your antique furniture next to radiators, air conditioners or open windows
ĦE Hot dishes should not be placed directly onto the surface of the furniture.
ĦE Handle your furniture with care when moving it
